My name is Samuel Prieto, CETEP Director (Center for Educational and Pedagogic Technology) at the Unimagdalena and I wish to inform you well ahead of time to get ready (you and your university students) to participate in this world academic event that is held every two years in our region.

My name is Samuel Prieto, CETEP Director (Center for Educational and Pedagogic Technology) at the Unimagdalena and I wish to inform you well ahead of time to get ready (you and your university students) to participate in this world academic event that is held every two years in our region.
 
The ITA (International Telework Academy) has appointed the University of Magdalena as the venue for the 2014 event. The University has invited several universities and entities interested in supporting the event. Three (3) video conferences were held in the last year, and a meeting for improving the organization of the event. A web page was devised, which describes the main work to be carried out and which you can see at the ITA home page.
This academic meeting is made up of:
a-     The 19th Academic Workshop
The academic 2-day event is intended for the research community, including scholars, professionals, and politicians. To attend people has to register first.
Participants are expected to present scientific papers on the topics indicated, and also to take part in the workshop interactive sessions. Papers should refer to the Theme Blocks and objectives determined for the event, in addition to following pre-established characteristics.
Papers shall be evaluated by an International Academic Committee, in order to ensure a fruitful debate related to the themes to be addressed.
b-     Open Symposium:
The Open symposium is intended for the general community, including entrepreneurs, national or regional governmental institutions and social agents. The goal is to present the latest news and future trends in an accessible manner, towards general awareness vis-à-vis an evolving activity, together with institutional practices. This will be a one-day symposium and will include speeches by local and international speakers.
Papers to be presented during the ITA2014 shall be classified in theme blocks:
Education for the development of the Information Society.
Inclusive technologies and infrastructure for telework

Education for the development of the Information Society: The growing need to educate citizens in new production environments; taking into consideration the nature of telework, the need appears to reformulate the kind of education, and how it is provided, and how it can contribute for Intellectual Capital: Balance of production Factors in the Information Society the information society impacting the society positively. 
Inclusive technologies and infrastructure for telework: Infrastructure is essential for the development of arrangements such as telework, and we should think on how companies, government and citizens invest jointly to adapt their work sites to the new technologies. It is also necessary to allow people with disabilities to accede in a simpler way to these new technologies.
Intellectual Capital: Balance of production Factors in the Information Society: it is also important to think on how telework may impact labor in some little-knowledgeable countries, through regulations, compensations and other kinds of strategies seeking to avoid unemployment in those are where the duties are of an intellectual nature.

The event will take place from 20 to 22 August, 2014, in the city of Santa Marta – Colombia.
The registration Price is USD 300.00.

1. 3.     CONCLUSIONS
The venue for the ITA2014 is the University of Magdalena from 20 to 22 august 2014, in the city of Santa Marta – Colombia, and the event has the backing of Latin American public and private institutions.  Meeting to be held in the American Continent we hope to produce the Santa Marta Manifesto which will allow us to continue thinking, theorizing and promoting telework worldwide.
